Sue

Sue, Co-Director

“I’m a non salaried co-director of Real Lives. Before setting up Real Lives with Nicole and Poppy I worked for 30 years in mental health services initially as a clinician and for many years as a manager.

Real Lives provides us opportunity to invest in and develop our PALs whilst providing people with a service that is designed for them. I want to contribute to a positive, recovery focused culture, making sure there is lots of fun and laughter along the way.”

Nicole, Co-Director

“I worked for Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust for many years before setting up Real Lives with Sue. I am also a non salaried Director of Real Lives and Crocus Café. I’ve worked as a community nurse, a team manager and lastly as the project manager for the Peer Support Service. I found my involvement with peers to be truly life changing. It demonstrated to me the gifts, talents and strengths of the people who use mental health services and showed me that what people really need is someone to believe in them, the chance to develop their skills and the opportunity to use them in their daily lives.”
