Personalisation

The government released a personalisation paper in 2007 titled ‘Putting People First’ which was about a commitment to finding ways to improve social care in England. The paper promotes personalisation: putting people who receive care or support at the centre of and with full involvement in their services. This means that systems move away from individuals having to fit into services that are designed and commissioned on their behalf. Rather that individuals can choose and control how their needs are met and their goals are achieved by receiving their own budget.
