This is part of the Personalisation agenda to encourage individuals to choose services that fit them rather than trying to fit into services that are built for groups of people not individuals. Eligibility for Self Directed Support is assessed by a social worker. The end result is your Personal Budget which is individual to you. You can spend your SDS on anything that meets your goals, is healthy and legal, and approved by your Local Authority.
